The Undo Button We’ve all wished life had an undo button – for those awkward responses that blurted out of your mouth, for that bus you could have caught if you had ran just a smidge faster, for that stray hand that knocked your coffee all over your keyboard. Well life has just been upgraded – turns out there is an undo button. Well, it’s only for Gmail, but it’s a start. Activate the “Undo” button by clicking the Gear Icon in the upper right corner, going to Settings, and then heading over to the Labs tab.

When I drag the favicon out of Safari onto my desktop, it makes a link to the website– but for some weird reason, that link always opens up in Firefox instead of Safari, even though Safari is where I got it from. I right-clicked on the link and chose “Get Info,” and it said the default application for opening such files was Finder. (?) I changed it to Safari, but it continues opening in Firefox. This is a problem because Safari is where I have my login info saved for the site in question (it’s Google Calendar, and I use Firefox with a different Google account). If you type “Desktop Icon” in the Search field, a “Themes and related settings” option will appear in the results. You can repeat the steps above to add multiple websites to your Dock, and you can even add custom icons to individual website Dock icons. The trick in the latter case is to drag the website URL from Safari’s address bar to your Desktop first, then follow the same steps used to, and then finally drag the URL icon to your Dock. Once in place in your Dock, you can rearrange your website shortcuts by clicking and dragging them, but keep in mind that they need to remain on the right side of the Dock’s dividing line.
